Since beginning his real estate career in 1987, Mr. Hood has focused his efforts and honed his skills in the area of tenant and landlord representation. A resident of Fayette County, he has developed his expertise in metro Atlanta’s unique south side market, concentrating on negotiating leases and sales for both buyers and sellers. Additionally, he has worked on several large land assemblage projects that have been developed into substantial industrial parks. Clients include, among others, Sprint Telephone, Freightliner Trucks and Browning Ferris Industries. Prior to establishing SouthPort Commercial Real Estate, Mr. Hood worked with King Industrial Realty from 1992 to 1999; prior to that time, he worked for Tri-City Commercial Sales, Inc. and was an independent land developer. His sales experience also includes three years with PYA/Monarch Foods and seven years with MSA Co. in Jacksonville, Florida.

John Keown specializes in representing landlords and tenants with the leasing and sales of commercial properties throughout Atlanta area with a specialized focus on the south side market. Mr. Keown divides his time between developing, maintaining, and enhancing client relationships. The submarkets in which Mr. Keown concentrates include south Atlanta, airport area, Fulton Industrial and local markets served by 1-75, 1-85, and 1-285. Specific market focus allows for the development of in-depth market knowledge that benefits landlords in those core areas.

Prior to joining SouthPort Commercial Real Estate Services, LLC, John Keown was Director of Store Development for Genuine Parts Company’s (GENPT, NYSE) National Automotive Parts Association – NAPA. Reporting to the President, responsible for structuring new department with a mission to identify, plan, construct and open 50-net new, company-owned stores annually over a five-year period.

Over a six-year period, from 1999 through 2005, John developed and managed an eighteen person department with an annual budget in excess of twenty-two million dollars. The group included Legal (real estate attorneys), Real Estate Acquisition/Leasing (five Real Estate Managers), Site Analysis (area identification), Construction, and lease management (maintained the company’s nine hundred forty-two (942) leased facilities in thirty-eight states. In the six-year period, John was responsible for opening over two hundred and eighty (280) new company owned sites and oversaw the disposition of another two hundred and fifty (250) lease locations.

Since joining SouthPort Commercial Real Estate Services, John has successfully represented multiple principles in both the leasing and sale/purchase of properties. A confidential listing of those principles will be provided upon request.
